There's a gentleman who often plays plaintive tunes on a shakuhachi flute in the square at the Japan Center in SF. A couple weeks ago when we visited, we noted with some amusement that he was playing Superstar by The Carpenters, both as we arrived and as we departed about an hour later.

We visited again yesterday, and lo and behold! Superstar.

I'm new here, time for #introductions!

I'm a #GenX mother of two brilliant, delightful Gen Z adults, one just out of college, thriving and independent, and one quite disabled in her severe anxiety and panic disorder, unable to work or go to school. Through trying to help her get diagnosed, I grew to recognize and seek support in understanding my own lifelong struggles with #ADHD and #anxiety. It's been quite the journey.

I'm a project manager (systems are my thing/coping strategy!) by day. My interests are wide and varied: art, music, literature, science, fashion — basically, the world, its workings, and our culture and history and how we make sense of it all. It's all fascinating.

Currently trying to help my daughter figure herself out in a way that works for her, while I unravel and understand the impact ADHD has had on my own life and my parenting.

My political leanings are progressive. I'm supporting Team Harris Walz to defeat 🎃. How refreshing to feel optimistic!
