13.1.2025 20:53had heard of a communications museum tucked away in the Hawthorn campus of Swinburne for ages, but understood that it was focused on phone...ok, so I want to splice an extra resistor into an audio circuit because I only use the device at the lowest volume setting and there's some weird whine going on whenever it turns on the output stage, however: the speaker is connected to the mainboard with a connector that I might be able to find online and make a smallish lead with said resister and put that inline and crank the volume a bit to compensate and lower the noise floor ... problem is, I have no idea where to source the plug or cable variant of the socket ... it looks like this, pins are at 1/16in pitch to my eyes ... what is this thing called that I might search for it?

In this case they seem to old Baker's Delight bags which look like some coarse material but have a plastic inner liner so I don't think they're meant for the recycling waste stream ...
