She's adorable but added a lot of chaos (and mess) to our lives, and added the occasional squeaky toy noise sound effect to calls

Shall we try making things a bit more conversational? Tell me something you've loved about this year - big or small, something you achieved or just something nice

Today I learned!

(experimenting with editing / deleting and redrafting so I can add alt text - will it appear as a new post or an edited post on the same date?)

It's online (register in advance for the link) or in-person at Senate House in London. It's also a lovely chance to celebrate Richard Deswarte's life and work. He's still very much missed by so many.

I've been a 'cultural heritage technologist' in #MuseTech for years, with enough time in the commercial sector to know it's not for me. I moved into #UX via a MSc in Human-Computer Interaction #HCI then did a PhD in #DigitalHumanities / #DigitalHistory with a side in #crowdsourcing / #citizenscience
Originally from #Melbourne I've worked in Amsterdam and Turkey (Çatalhöyük) and live in #London.

5.11.2022 15:33Folk on scholar.social, I don't think I can follow you from here?I've been in more senior specialist / middle management roles (and busy with boring grown up things in the evenings) for so long now that I can barely even code for fun (I guess unless I went back to php). I miss having that outlet and those skills!

Also I should probably have added some hashtags, as it's a #London #library #exhibition hosted at a #museum in #Leeds, based on a #DataScience #research project about the #IndustrialRevolution using historical #newspapers

I loved the research, and came to like writing (and editing) captions. I literally jumped up and down with joy when I saw some objects in person for the first time, but the best bit was still probably hearing old ballads from the British Library's collections sung by folk singers at the exhibition opening.

I locked the more personal one when a random got a bit stalker-y.
Live tweeting doesn't seem to be a thing at events now (because of video streaming, or because there are so many events?) but the public account was nearly all GLAM digital, the other more hippie etc.
Do I want to merge those voices here?
