My heart breaks especially for everyone hurt, and also for this young person. Why did it happen? What could have prevented it? Certainly not more policing and surveillance. We need so much more.

In the most surveilled city in the country, where we give 1/3 of our budget to police, thanks to city leadership. Where guns are everywhere, thanks to state leadership.
