Calling all FediFetcher users who are currently running FediFetcher as a GitHub Action:
Following recent changes by GitHub, and a poll, which showed that only a single respondent actually relies on GitHub Actions without any alternative way of running FediFetcher, GitHub Action support for FediFetcher has been deprecated.
If you are currently running FediFetcher as a GitHub Action, please refer to our new guide on migrating FediFetcher from GitHub Actions:
https://github.com/nanos/FediFetcher/wiki/Migrating-From-GitHub-Actions
You should have until 20th June to perform the migration, but if you don't migrate before then, FediFetcher will likely cease working for you shortly after.
If you have any questions, please free to open an issue on GitHub, or reply to this post.
And if you are that one person who doesn't have an alternative way of running FediFetcher: Please get in touch! I'd love to help you if I can.

Could users of FediFetcher please respond to this poll so I can gauge how much of a problem this actually is.

TIL Laravel's \Illuminate\Bus\Dispatcher::dispatch
method ignores job uniqueness.
If want to use unique jobs I need to either use the global dispatch
helper (🤮) or the Job’s static ::dispatch
method (🤮🤮).
Please tell me I'm missing something.
Is there really no way to use unique jobs in laravel with dependency injection?!

As you probably know, the Action recently stopped working, and we need to find a solution to this.

So that led me to write this blog post about Laravel’s PromptsForMissingInput

These two aren’t from some war torn, economically unstable country.
Do they really think that 2 German teenagers with a comfortable and legal life in Germany ahead of them, with ‘free’ healthcare and social security, without (for now 😬) a government of right wing lunatics, will just leave that behind and ‘abscond’ whilst on holiday in the US to become illegal immigrants in one of the most hostile western countries in the world just as it enters its dark ages both politically and economically?
It just makes no sense …

Very clever technology actually!
There is a really interesting video explaining the details of how these work is in the article, that is sadly extremely let down by just how terribly boringly and monotonously it's narrated …
