I had surgery on my right hand on March 7. My right thumbnail (nail plate, nail bed, and germinal matrix — the entire nail organ) were permanently removed. A bone fragment was removed from inside my thumb and skin from my inner wrist was grafted onto my thumb. The procedure was way more involved and painful than I expected. I had a complication post-op involving an injury to the wound. I’m nervous about the removal of stitches because it’s still so sensitive to touch/pain. #MastoArt
