Yesterday, I watched a waterflea giving birth. 2 rather large juveniles were apparently still quite soft initially and were thus able to move from the brood chamber in the dorsal region behind the posterior end of the mother to the opening on the underside. They then apparently pumped themselves up during and after birth until their cuticle hardened. Amazing! Being in the right place at the rigtht time! Would have been worth recording. Time to buy a camera for the #microscope. #microscopy

First time I heard about it was when my then-girlfriend (from another country) was totally vexed when she did not get anything from me that day. I had never heard of it. Big trouble! 😂
I think it was introduced here by the flower and chocolate industries (during the 1980s or 1990s?). From my point of view, a purely commercial event. Sorry, folks, I don't participate. Fortunately, my wife is also from a country without that tradition.

Wir haben aber selbst ein primäres Interesse daran, dass Klimaschutz weltweit durchgeführt wird. Das an irgendwelche anderen Themen zu koppeln ist gefährlicher Blödsinn.

How much more time has passed in the centers of these voids since the big bang? If more time has passed there, space should have expanded more there and the way of light passing through a void should be longer. How large is this effect, if it exists? Couldn’t you ask your gold smiths to loosen it from its setting in your sceptre? In the ceremony, you could then take it out, hand it over to an RSA representative and declare the setting should remain empty forever as a symbol of the end of colonialism. Wouldn’t that be a great symbol of the UK starting to come to terms with the empire’s not so glorious past?

This extraordinary kind of politics is therefore probably only to be had this way, for a limited time. This kind of politics cannot be expected from the normal power seekers who usually come to the top.
Electorally, leaving now, giving the next person time to establish her/himself is certainly better.
