i made an alt account a long time ago on fediverse to try out a new software
and now i'm confused which one to use more and how to use each one?
how do you people use your multiple accounts???
it is 25th anniversary of Half-Life
game just got a update
giving some minor but welcome changes
3 new multiplayer maps
and raising the limits for modding
and it is all FREE TO KEEP on steam until 20th november
grab the game if you haven't
multiplayer servers also have high traffic because of update letting you have the chaotic old-school deathmatch adrenaline
just wanted to share
free to keep game

"oh hey I wanna play some left 4 dead 2, like 20 minutes and then go do other stuff"
famous words before waiting 20 minutes for mods to be downloaded (the mods that game removed randomly)
looking a bit closer to thumbnail, it looks questionable
but i assure you the animation itself is just wholesome
"well yes, my favourite linux distro is android x86"
- a quote, considering world's infinite possibilites have been said (or would)
This is so pure, cute and well animated

the whole meta p92 drama is such a headache
a lot of posts and comments, and I'm still confused on how meta can hurt fediverse, meta can't affect other servers they don't own, right?
but the rumor of meta contacting large instance admins was true?
sigh, I considered some possibilities but until p92 launch, I can just wait and see
i don't know how to feel about this
there's an account on mstdn.social called "Natural Language Research" (nlpbot) since january that:
1. claims to "learn from toots"
2. states "If you do not want to be a part of this experiment please reach out"
yeah the opt-out part with no notification to users, is just not great
how do you approach self-learning on internet?
and do you just follow whatever the article/video says? or analyze them beyond through searching dictionary/reference/documentation?
wanted to upload a picture, but "unexpected error occurred"
also i was not sure if i want to link the sales page because i think people scare of it being phishing and just not checking the thing, so i just say hey this thing is happening and people can search for it and find it in google (not that google isn't immune to phishing, but people feel safer with it than some rando on internet)
a sales for metro franchise is going on steam with most games discounted for 80%
and metro last light is FREE TO KEEP until may 25!
i realized i had "gdb-minimal" installed, it is a debugger
i used "apt rdepends -i gdb-minimal" to check what installed packages depend on it, "plasma-workspace"? do i have it installed? no i don't
this time tried "--installed" option with above command and it shows, nothing?
checking with "apt-mark" it is not installed manually
huh, package manager, such an enigma
something about mastodon search that bothers me is it doesn't search through your follower list
a lot of times I want to check on some I follow, so i search their first 3-5 character in their id, but either it returns accounts i don't follow or no accounts at all?
so i just use firefox's url bar suggestions to find them again
