When I (re)started content creation this year, I made a goal to hit 500 subs and 500 views per video on YouTube. No time frame, just wanted to hit those numbers.

Last week I put out a particularly silly video that I am very proud of and sailed right past that subs number. I am still decidedly a small fish and the views aren't quite there yet, but I am really happy with where I'm at.

Anyone here have experience/advice on dealing with formatted YouTube subtitles? I spent hours creating captions with color-coded speakers, making sure the colors were colorblind-friendly and everything, and when I uploaded them, all that got ignored and they're just basic white. I am so beyond frustrated. I try to be nice and be a good advocate and this is what happens.

I don't know how many on here make videos, but if you edit with Resolve, don't sleep on the auto captions. Accessibility is a big deal for me, so I always try to have captions that convey not just the words but also the impact, timing, etc, and Google's auto ones are just so bad I would spend hours fixing them. Resolve's are so good I have reclaimed literal hours of time per video. I'm so happy I could cry.
