Dann gab es noch einen Vortrag von Luzia Vorspel (Bochum) zu alten und gegenwärtigen Vorschlägen zur Verbesserung der Situation des Mittelbaus. Ergebnis: alles ziemlich schlecht, selbst symbolische Verbesserung, wie das Recht, sich als Assistant Professor bezeichnen zu dürfen, wird von den Privilegieninhaber:innen blockiert.

Gerade eine schöne Veranstaltung des WPR an der RUB besucht.
Zuerst ein interessanter Vortrag von Mathias Kuhnt (Dresden), der sich vor allem mit dem Argument "Verstopfung" durch Entfristung von #IchbinHanna beschäftigt hat. Für viele wenig überraschendes Ergebnis: das Argument ist Quatsch. Und teurer würde es dadurch auch nicht. Und es würde die Qualität der Lehre steigern.

Meine Uni hatte den löblichen Plan, die Situation des sog. Mittelbaus zumindest ein kleines bisschen zu verbessern, indem Mitglieder die Titel Assistant und Associate Prof. bekommen sollten. Das soll jetzt doch nicht kommen, sondern stattdessen „Independent Researcher“ und „Independent Senior Researcher“. Kann man sich echt nicht ausdenken 🤦

Soon, most of the interesting stuff is probably coming in via Bridgy Fed, piecemeal and disrupted. Then one might as well switch to Bluesky...
