What struck me most at this awe-inspiring place was the black volcanic ash on the icebergs. I had it in my head that everything would be snow white!

In the distance, you can see Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull. The ice creates the icebergs you see here, which then float down towards the sea and create the "diamonds" on Diamond Beach about a mile away.

We followed the Cabot Trail searching for moose. I've always wanted to see a moose and somehow I never find one! Of course we didn't find any moose, but we did see beautiful views like this one. I loved the reddish tones of the cliffs and the steely gray of the sky and the water.
