I've been very lucky to be in India today, to belatedly perform last rites of my late grandfather, Mr Suryya Ray —

schoolteacher, public administrator, and Sr Advocate of the #SupremrCourt of India, who died of #COVID a year ago.

His goal was for every marginalised person, "to live with their head held high, among the free peoples of the world."

As a baby law student, discovering his love for #India, her #Constitution #Law and its #Secular #Reform, has been incredible to me.

Despite being quite unwell and dealing with personal and work challenges, I've a nice provisional first in the bag, for my academic start to the law diploma proper! Delighted.

Was hoping my luck from the medical law degree carried over; that plus hard work seems to be paying off.

Super grateful to friends who advised me to do the dip, and be strategic about it. Also to folks who said it was 'too much' for me — I am mostly driven by love for the law, but spite is also okay!
