But like I said, if I were the target audience—like say, if I were in my pre-teens, falling in love with the idea of love, I'd be declaring this the best work in the universe. It's obvious I'm not the target audience of this work because I find it unsatisfactory that the story is hyper focused on building romance sans context. They are in school and do school things, but it almost feels like an afterthought. Female MC looks like she's in a single-parent family, it's possible that male MC has deeper issues so he hangs out at an old friend's cafe, but the page space is devoted to how they keep discovering more and more how different they are from their school identities. Which is fine, yes, and the whole point of the work even, but unlike KareKano's Miyazawa, whose actions make sense because they're given context early on, these two are just pretty. With secrets.

I picked this up because of a random video where 3 manga editors recommend reads—one of them singled this out because the art is rather unusual, for a shoujo manga. It certainly is very well-drawn; the protagonists, who are supposed to be devastatingly good-looking, really do look the part. Aside from being beautiful creatures, they're class reps (responsible, kind to everyone), and good students (studious, hard-working). Then something happens that makes them realize they both have secret, real selves hiding behind their school personas.

KareKano had this premise too, and dealt with it better. For Fall in Love...it's been 4 volumes and there's still no proper explanation for the split personalities.
