so when i was choosing sprigatito (because cats are cats and my favorite word is oyasumimir) and rival chose the water type, fuecoco was left there staring around with his huge open mouth, looking dumb and happy like a dog, not knowing what just happened, and my boyfriend jokingly said "he's probably still wondering 'when are we going home?' he has no idea" 💔 and i got SO SAD, that he had to promise me he would pick him and take care of him. 🥺

i wish #pokemon games were closer visually to pokemon x and y. i think 6th gen was a really good mix between old mechanics with quality of life improvements, more customizable character, and a mostly 2d environment with some limited 3d areas that still could run smoothly... a better looking version of that could be made and the switch would be able to run it flawlessly.

i do think deeper exploration adds a lot to a pokemon game, but i also think they don't need the ugly cheap looking 3d style they're doing now to achieve it. it can just be done with larger areas, more complicated and interconnected to each other. there's a middle ground! a game being mostly 2d doesn't mean you have to go back to routes that are just a long corridor with trainers staring to the path from either side of the road.

it makes me so sad to see so many closed doors that cant be accessed in #pokemonViolet , it feels so contrary to what #pokemon games used to be. the shops that are just menus are a joke, and they seem to be copypasted everywhere to fill space. but this doesn't seem intentional, it seems unfinished. not being able to walk through the academy and navigating it with a menu is the biggest tell: it's extremely unsatisfying and needlessly confusing.

something that was immediately very annoying is the field of view and camera movement. but it's not just some performance issues or bugs: it feels like it wasn't tested at all, in general. some functions are not properly explained, it's missing tutorials and guidance as well.

pokemon fans will play all the same but i wouldn't get this game for a kid as a christmas present. to be worth it, it should at least be prettier. but it also looks very bad.

a lot of people who were previously in the fedi are talking about people moving from twitter like they're a homogeneous grey mass of annoying faceless server-crashing idiots... they're individuals, making an effort to join a new space. when you see the numbers go up and reach incomprehensible peaks, please avoid dehumanising them into data. some will adapt, some will not, some will be blocked but most will be nice, and a lot of them come with ideas, art, and words that will enrich these spaces. even if they don't know how to caption and use warnings yet.

i guess im not cool enough to not give a fuck about things. i do care if twitter crashes and burns: i met my partner there, and almost every friend ive made as an adult.

ive found a lot of comfort writing about daily life and reading my mutuals, and curated that space for 13 years through follows, blocks and lists.

a lot of people might find it sad, but im very much an introvert and twitter provided me a way to keep in touch with people from a comfy distance. to have a friendly word often.

ive taken care of that circle for a long time, and im going to be upset if i lose it. you can't just recreate it somewhere else if everyone scatters.

im also not in the mood for being mocked for being sad.
