I am expecting my first child and thinking about picking up my first “real” camera. Mostly to get photos of motion and portraits from a distance, but also just to get beautiful photos with bokeh.

I don’t anticipate taking this camera everywhere and probably don’t want to be juggling lenses, so thinking about getting a single lens that can do good enough from a variety of distances.

What should I be looking at and do you think this is a good idea? Hoping to spend less than 2k all in, but could be convinced to spend more! (Looking at you @marcoarment)
