Update on my use of Mastodon Social: A new ToS is taking effect on July 1st. It adds good precautions like informing users about DMCA & forbidding scraping users' data, but also some bad things. The highlight of this is the age minimum, which is raised from 13 to 16, even in countries where that age isn't federally mandated. Decentralized social media needs to become more inclusive, not locked out. Privacy issues cannot be addressed with arbitrary age raises. I'm out of here, find me on Bluesky!
