Students at #hhu have to add a declaration to their submitted homework or thesis, in which they state that their work isn’t plagiarism. This is useful. The German compound for this is ‘Plagiatserklärung’ (Erklärung is roughly declaration or explanation) which always strikes me as conveying the opposite of what it intends to convey.
