Sure, I have this Mastodon account, but looking at my posting frequency, I barely use it, nor barely visit the site. I guess I'm cured?

Imagine my surprise when I went to Twitter, oh wait, I'm sorry "X", lol, and tried to log in to my account, only to find that they ACTUALLY deleted it, as requested.

I fully expected it to remain archived and locked and I could return to it at any time, because data hoarding.

Now, that isn't to say they didn't keep it behind bars, obviously, but at least the account appears, from the outside, to actually be deleted.

Yay. No more Twitter. Feels oddly liberating.

Youtube is rapidly becoming utterly unusable. There's ads every few minutes and they're so ungodly disruptive to the point where I've legitimately started downloading every single video and using sponsorblock to weed out the shit.

If only Youtube premium was, you know, worth its price. But the supbar experience and lacking features are just lightyears behind any of the alternative methods. You'd literally get no ads and that's it.

Not worth the price, Google. Fix yo shit.

I work as a specialist IT-analyst in the Swedish police force and I come across countless cases and court cases.

One thing that has truly struck me is that I see *so many* neurodivergent people, mostly men, getting into absolutely horrendous behaviours and the only thing separating them from me is that I've managed to keep my neurodivergence in check and not indulged in the darker impulses.

There's so little required to "let go" and become a horrible person.

If only these men had gotten the help they needed earlier, the support they needed as kids, maybe they wouldn't have made the choices later in life that they ended up making...

It's a sobering thought, tbh. And it instills gratefulness in me in the people around me. Those that helped me stay straight and true, gave me the help and support I needed to not falter.

absolutely boggles my mind. It sounds so competitive, antagonistic and downright toxic.

It probably isn't and I'm likely missing huge parts of the culture around those types of games but to me it just sounds like the worst parts of competitive online multiplayer games mixed with the slow-ass maths of tabletops. (ie: Not fun in the slightest)
