Why would Apple name their word processing program Pages? Sure, it's a related term, but have you ever tried to search for information when you run into a bug? Gah!

(I can't add a comment to certain words in this document. I can add comments above and below, but there are at least two words where clicking to add a comment causes the comment pane to open and then it immediately deletes the new comment. WTF?)

I don't know what his long-term prognosis is, but I'm happy with the progress he's made in the last 10 days.

Little Chamomile's care has officially entered "write out a treatment sheet because it's hard to keep straight" territory....

Little Chamomile's care has officially entered "write out a treatment sheet because it's hard to keep straight" territory. Today at his vet visit, we found out he's running a fever (which explains his weakness), and he's FeLV+, which complicates things a little.

Fingers crossed we can get him through this current crisis. If we can manage that, he'll be a special adoption to a home that has space for FeLV cats.

I have a second foster cat, a 4-month-old boy whom I have named Chamomile (pronounced Cha-mom-i-lé). He is all black and currently a snotty...

I have a second foster cat, a 4-month-old boy whom I have named Chamomile (pronounced Cha-mom-i-lé). He is all black and currently a snotty mess, so trying to get a decent picture is impossible.

He's pretty sick (parvo negative, thankfully), but he's getting anti-virals, antibiotics, nebulization, fluids, warmth, and assisted feeding — at this point it's just a matter of waiting for his body to heal itself.

I was excited because the new version of Affinity Publisher includes multi-page spreads. Would I finally be able to do a paperback cover layout at three pages (back cover, spine, front cover) and not have to re-align everything if the spine width changes?

Sadly, no. It looks like the pages have to be the same size. (Someone please tell me if I'm wrong about this!)

But they *did* add a bunch of machine learning features I don't care about! <eye roll>

Ever since I upgraded to MacOS Sequoia, something has been eating up my hard drive space. I've offloaded a ton of stuff to the cloud and deleted a bunch more, but the drive keeps filling up.

Anyone have suggestions? I've turned off all the Spotlight search categories.

At this point I'm running out of things to delete. Any suggestions?

I'm watching Potsdam Homicide (with subtitles) and I catch about 50% of the dialog even though I haven't used German for 35 years. And I think if they were speaking more slowly, it might be higher than that.

(But there's one character (the pathologist) that I can't understand at all. I assume he has a different accent.)

I'm amazed my brain hung onto that much for so long.

On Saturday, I performed the Foster Kitten Summoning Ritual (i.e., cleaned and disinfected the space used by the kittens that went off for adoption on Wednesday).

But it's been 48 hours, and still no kittens!

Perhaps another round of cleaning is necessary?

(Note: I will not have to worry about this in a few months when I'll likely be trying to find another part of the house that can hold a third litter "just for a few days until we can find another foster.")

Is Endeavour the dreariest show around? Nobody is allowed to be happy for even five minutes over the 8 seasons I've watched.

(I would totally watch a spin-off with the reporter, though. She's smart, interesting, and isn't followed by a permanent dark cloud.)
