Sometimes I wonder if using #Mastodon puts me in bubble disconnected from society. Are bigger platforms an alternative?

Algorithmic feeds and everything #AI is destroying the shared social space by design. Despite their wider user base, they're no place for true public discourse.

Maybe it's time to rethink how we can stop societal divide in times when shared social spaces seem utopian.

After the Twitter takeover, I joined Mastodon. The community quickly became my new home, worthy of being called social media.

I didn't leave #Xitter immediately, but at some point I couldn't stand the bot-fed outrage bubble anymore. About a year ago I left for good and haven’t looked back since.
