This week, I had to design a text-only poster for a book for a course on #typography. So I took a sentence out of Joe Abercrombie's Last Argument of Kings—"Power makes all things right"—and did some custom hand-lettering to try to capture the mood of the book—cynical, violent, darkly humorous.

Below you can see what I ultimately settled on. What do you think—does it fit noir #fantasy? Or should I have taken things in another direction?

My class' instructor told me to remove the tattoos on the figure because she felt they were visually distracting from the form.

The model and me disagreed. And you, where do you stand?

To follow up on my last post: If you think two-and-a-half years between commissioning a logo and putting out a debut album is a long time, you have no idea how slow the music-writing process can be! Back in 2003, I did a logo for Fleshbound, a newly-formed death metal band featuring some veterans who had already put out several albums across various labels. It would finally be put to use in 2021, or so I was told. But it's only now that they're finally about to hit the rehearsal room, lol! #logo
