There was nothing wrong with , which I was using before, but I felt like the project had reached a scale where I needed more flexibility and QoL than I knew how to make RPGM do. So changing over made more sense in the long term. (Also is a delight to work with.)

I just spent almost an hour trying to debug why a variable apparently wasn't being set properly on a node in . Eventually found out I had a script on a completely different node that immediately reset that variable (which I'm sure must have seemed like a great idea at the time).

No wonder this game is taking forever to finish. 🫠

This game ended up at 33000+ words (prose and code) and took way longer than a silly little side project should have, so please play it before the angry Mesopotamian gods decide to destroy the world. It is very unfair and there's no way to win*, so you can only hope to survive one year at a time. JUST LIKE REAL LIFE, EH? Good luck.

The gods are EXTREMELY ANGRY all the time, both in general and at humanity specifically, and they will destroy the world if not regularly appeased. And since all the other city states do their sacrifices incorrectly, it's all up to you.

I've spent the last few days looking at mailing list platforms for a , and I've realised there's basically four types of platforms:

1. Incredibly expensive with a bunch of features you don't need
2. Very pretty UI that doesn't actually work
3. Basic functionality requires mandatory violations 🙃
4. UI looks like something from the late 90s and works 85% of the time

Obviously I'm looking at a #4 as the best candidate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Unfortunately, my post yesterday about a -only release was just an April Fools' joke. The game is coming out in (at the very least) English and Danish versions.

BUT THAT SAID, I did have to set up the entire actual infrastructure for a version just for the sake of making that one joke. So if anyone wants to finance that… let me know, I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also featuring an appearance of the two Evil Debug Guys! I always use these two guys from MZ's Evil spritesheet for my debug event because they stand out quite from the rest of the graphics, so I won't forget to remove them afterwards.

(They're not really evil, they're actually very nice and helpful. ^_^)
