20.9.2024 22:43Why is it so warm?I was called "weird" throughout my adolescence in the 60s. We all have a bit of the weird about us, especially in adolescent years, but two things set me apart as weird:
1. I supported equal rights for Black people.
2. I opposed the war against Vietnam.

I was able to find your ID and re-follow you. I'll do that as often as necessary.

Not absurd, Qasim. It means that the US government supports genocide. The truth is written clearly for all to see.

You appeared in the Sunday New York Times crossword today.
Early in the morning of 4 December 1969, Chicago Black Panther leader Fred Hampton and his comrade Mark Clark were gunned down in their beds by a death squad of Chicago cops. Edward V Hanrahan, Democratic party State's Attorney, organized the death squad.
I had heard Fred speak several times at the U of Illinois campus where I studied.
This devastating crime has remained fresh in my memory for 54 years. Rest in power, Comrades.

In prison after the raid, he wrote to his brother, "I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land can never be purged away but with blood. I had, as I now think, vainly flattered myself that without very much bloodshed, it might be done."
His last words were, "This is a beautiful country."

I had the dubious pleasure of exchanging a couple of words with LaRouche at an antiwar conference at Hunter College, NY. I had the task of monitoring the literature table room. It was 1972. He represented the national caucus of Labor Committee at the time. He dressed like he was auditioning as a fop in an 18th-century English comedy. The next year he went full fascist, beating CPUSA members and anyone else who would defend them.
