tilde.zone is a great instance founded on a really cool back-to-basics web culture that reminds me of getting started with all of this in the 90s. If it has any drawback for me as an instance it's just that I don't know that many other people on tilde.zone so I don't automatically see familiar people quite so easily.

As I noted last time I migrated (https://indieweb.social/@xian/109638736647859082), I am on a bit of an "instance tour," trying to find the right size and the right neighborhood.

Next stop, xoxo.zone (and I have a gut feeling that might be the one I stick with). XOXO is another community I have warm feelings for, and in this case quite a few of my online pals already "live" there, so I'll be based over at @xian@xoxo.zone once I finish this latest migration.

xoxo.zone is currently about a third the size of tilde (338 active users vs. 948) and I'm curious how that might feel.

Also, I have to say it's the best url so far. Nice and compact and easy to spell and remember.
