I develop Keyoxide (also funded by NLnet), an online identity tool that focuses on decentralization. As such, I had a question that I couldn't quite answer myself reading the spec: is it possible to expose data publicly? The spec says access is restricted to specific secret keys, but is there a way to say "anyone can request this entry"?

Should one use a superseded and out-of-date RFC in a new project?

In a project, I need HTTP Signatures. The cavage RFC has been superseded by the httpbis RFC, but the problem is that there are no httpbis-compatible Rust crates, only cavage-compatible ones.

And I don't really have the time right now to start a new rust HTTP Signatures implementation...

I'm releasing the code but the project is just a proof-of-concept! Far from finished, lots of considerations and improvements to make.

Needed a small break from the usual work so decided to make a small side project today — learned a fair bit of typescript in the process.

My fediverse usage has greatly diminished due the sheer numbers of replies making interesting conversations difficult to read. Hopefully this helps a bit with this 😊

Besides that it's time for another mental break, I need to take the time to prepare and plan the work for 2023. There's a lot planned, ranging from writings specs and docs to developing GUIs. It will be an exciting year :)

Also, there are some significant personal changes inbound and I'll need some time to adjust to all that.
