This week, I ran a game of Trail of Cthulhu for Halloween, called 'Happy Yelloween', using the alpha-draft rules for the 2nd edition from the crowdfunding campaign on #Backerkit.
The PCs are freshers at Miskatonic University, hailing from different parts of the US.
The blast we had made my players asked me to run the Eternal Lies campaign. That's quite a commitment for me, but the idea is already sinking in!

Yesterday, we played our session 0 of M&B: Maids & Butlers, a homebrewed Victorian setting with, guess what, maids and butlers specially trained to undertake missions to protect Queen Victoria and their country.
It's powered by the amazingly versatile #CortexPrime system and I can't wait to start running this game next week.

Nowadays, I particularly refrain from buying physical #ttrpg books just to add them to my library out of curiosity. When I get one, it needs to have value, to be used, to be loved.
This is why I was absolutely euphoric when I received two long-sought-after rulebooks yesterday: @RustySellsword's #CortexPrime Game Handbook and
@TheOnyxPath's #MagetheAscension20thAnniversary. They are two absolutely fantastic games that deserve their rightful spot on my gaming tables.

I'm so glad I managed to start a one-shot game of #TitansvsLeviathans, a great setting for the #Cortex Prime generic system. I'm having a fantastic time running it, and after #SolarPunk, and #LeverageRPG, it confirms how enjoyable a system Cortex Prime is. I can't wait to explore it further. Actually that's next week, with a homebrewed Victorian setting called Maids and Butlers. @RustySellsword @foundryvtt

To conclude, I'd say that associating #MicroscopeRPG and #QuestWorlds was a terrific idea. My players, all new to #ttrpgs had a huge blast. Building a world through that game was exciting to them and the lightness of the #rpg system was liberating in many ways. I'll call that a success.
Now, let's see what #Kingdom gives with #QuestWorlds. Let's already call it QuestDom. Soon... 5/5

Beside the gaming sessions themselves, what was really fun was that the players, who were deeply involved in building their own setting, really wanted the following sessions to stick to their vision, and they did manage to make them match, perfectly. Spontaneity wasn't hindered by their knowldge of the meta-plot as that had enough room to explore relationships, to produce loads of drama and to have many action scenes. 4/5

They roleplayed a mutiny on board that escalated so quickly that the ship strayed its course into unknown space. They ended up being intercepted by an unknow species, the Phymids. 2/5

As some of you know, I've recently experimented a creative approach to #ttrpg using @benrobbins's #MicroscopeRPG followed by a few #rpg sessions with @Chaosium and @ian_h_cooper's #QuestWorlds. We played on @foundryvtt & #discord.

The worldbuilding session gave a tyrannical scifi world full of cybernetics & my players were very keen on playing an event about the disappearance of the Marathon, a starship that made contact with a new species and that ended up in a very long intergalactic war. 1/5

After all those years, I've finally got to start a campaign of @robindlaws's #DreamhoundsofParis! It's set in 1929 with Dali, Picasso, Eluard, Magritte and Artaud, and for this 1st session, a short one after explaining #TrailofCthulhu, #Gumshoe and the characters, we managed to get a lot of drama as an introduction session. That bodes so well for the rest of the campaign. Besides, my players are really into the surrealists, which helps a lot. @pelgranepress @foundryvtt #ttrpg #rpg

This evening I got to moderate and play @benrobbins's #InThisWorld and it was entertaining, interesting and thought-provoking.
We agreed on not using our actual world and settled on Middle Earth.
That pushed us to think hard on some very interesting topics, and as a result, we ended up with some very satisfying alternate worlds.
Now I look forward to playing this game again soon. #ttrpg #rpg #worldbuilding
