the zombie is rendered on a different plane though, somewhere within the camera object if i had to remember, its just an extra step to rendering the zombie itself ? occassionally the lighting can look weird, mostly seen in test videos (Examples below, look at the zombie itself then the surroundings, it might look off)

the zombie model itself wont contain a humanoid unlike its agent counterpart, due to it following the agent itself

the actual NPC will use a finite state machine to define where to go,
(E.G Shambler states:
Spawn
Idle
PursueTarget
FollowPath
Claw
Slash)

while the model will find the right animation to play ? (if i had to guess)

but now with more references and even the script itself,,,, its easier to remake!!

the way they do templates though is really weird since they make it extremely manual (2nd picture, all of them contain info for maps and gamemodes, needing 3 for the custom modes people who own private servers can load)
