Yesterday I struggled with my #lenovo #laptop because after setting the vendor's "performance" mode, the laptop under load exceeded the allowed temperature limit and shut down (even after cleaning/replacing the thermal paste).

The tool https://amdaputuningutility.com helped - I managed to set the vendor's "performance" mode and then precisely lower the temperatures/TDP so that the laptop under load was at the maximum possible power but didn't shut down.

I'm frustrated that most of them don't want to adopt new technologies and development practices and develop like there is 2000 outside. Younger, more ambitious kernel maintainers just leave Linux because of that.

I like Linux, but am I doomed to return to #windows or to buy Apple device and use #macos? :(

Overall, it came together pretty smoothly without any major issues – basically a mashup of ping-pong and Arkanoid.

WebTransport (kind of like WebSocket, but using HTTP/3) works great. I didn’t run any serious benchmarks, but it only takes a few lines of code to set up.

I used MessagePack to handle the game state data between the server and clients, and that was also a breeze with just a few lines, no extra hassle.
