When addressing the science of climate change and its profound impact on humanity and nature, we encounter extraordinary complexity. Visualisation is often promoted as a powerful tool that can guide human beings in navigating that complexity. However, visualising climate science can confuse, disengage, misinform or polarise.

I don’t focus my energy on the people at the extreme ends (doomers or deniers), but on the huge number of people in the middle. Each of us has possibilities to do something / to do more, and to inspire others to do something / to do more (e.g. from a meat-free day to going vegan, from supporting a sustainability initiative at work to organizing climate-related events, etc.). Everything, big or small, that people do, can help to make our common future less catastrophic. Image: @_hannahritchie
