I slowly curated my social media to include only a bunch of angry lefties like myself. Unfortunately, everyone in that bubble is extremely anti-AI, in a dumb way. They think they can ignore it forever. It breaks my heart, because, if they don’t adapt, all those otherwise intelligent and well-intentioned people will be out of a job soon. I hope they wake up sooner rather than later..

I spent the last year building a business that uses LLMs, vector search, data mining, etc to help investors find more opportunities for investment in niches. That worked really well. I ended up merging my company with my main client, which was awesome. I learned a lot. I left that firm because my job was done there, but I want to do it again, bigger. I might start my own investment firm, in a different market. The job is interesting and neurodivergent-friendly 😅, so I am really excited about it.

I miss the sense of community that you get from working in a monorepo. I wonder if we could build a giant but extremely high quality monorepo for the whole world to use.

I think that to make a compelling monorepo that people would have fun using we’d need to throw away git, make a new VCS and also redesign the build system so it’s a lot more automation-friendly.
