📦 Any recommendations for #FediPact instances? Looking for somewhere with a focus on either #FOSS or #sustainability in general.
Sadly moving on from @fosstodon after the instance admin @mike made his stance on the issue clear.
I try to donate regularly to my home instance, and I can't do that in good conscience while helping #Meta #EmbraceExtendExtinguish the #Fediverse so many people worked so hard to build.

I'm still extremely disappointed in @dansup's decision regarding federating @pixelfed's main instance with Threads.
I thought we had already discussed this issue pretty extensively on the Fediverse. I understand the justifications and arguments for it, but it's incredibly short-sighted.
Meta is not neutral, indifferent, or unaware. How many more times do we have to see the consequences?

Every few months I check @bonfire's website for updates and every single time I am absolutely blown-away by the new artwork they add to their homepage .
The new features are cool too , but the artwork is just.. wow.
What is the current consensus on the term for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & Co when contrasting them with the Fediverse?
Traditional social media? Private social media platforms? Corporate social media?
Same goes for the other side; Fediverse, Federated social media, or something else?
Trying to be consistent when writing about the topic.

@bernini @dajb Given the projects/orgs you run, would you guys happen to have any insight on this?

I have been messing around with Stable Diffusion, which is open source and can be run locally, and it has produced some quite impressive results.
You will notice, though, that in many of the prompts the art is based of/inspired by the style of actual artists (most common seems to be Greg Rutkowski). See here for examples: https://lexica.art/
I personally have mixed opinions on it.

Currently all sorts of info and updates are spread out between telegram channels (for different departments, for example), an online wiki, a website, etc. People have to post in many different places and even then some people still miss out!
What's the best way to handle this to make it easier for everyone and minimise redundant/out of date information?

I currently use CryptPad for documentation and kanban boards.
Any cool tools or methods someone would like to share?
@fosstodon Is there a graph somewhere where we can see the change in number of people on the instance or for Mastodon as a whole?
Or any sort of instance statistics over time.

openstreetmap.org has excellent features for contributing, but when it comes to actually using the map it falls short of Android clients like Organic Maps and OsmAnd.
I don't want to keep relying on Google Maps whenever I'm not on my phone.

Nothing too crazy on features, just the ability to make simple notes and to-do lists but most importantly it needs to have a homescreen widget.
So far I tried Neutrinote, Quillnote and NotePost.

How do these single-tenant sites interact with each other? I saw examples where I can host a livestream on my site with Owncast or have a live feed from my Mastodon account but that doesn't involve interaction from other #SmallWeb sites.
You said before it's different from Geocities, how so? Thank you
