I did my taxes this weekend and every year it’s a reminder of how messed up the American tax system is. I don’t dislike the idea of taxes. Taxes have to be paid. I dislike that I have to pay for software to figure out how to file my taxes and if I make a mistake I’m going to get a major fine. Or maybe I won’t because nobody notices? Why the government can’t create a bill I will NEVER understand. #uspol

I’m reading this document about AI development and its use by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. It’s pretty interesting. I have a few thoughts on the differences between humans and AI; it’s easy to fall into the ‘God of the gaps’ trap when thinking about these differences, but I don’t disagree with anything they say. I really like the sections on developing responsible AI that helps people.
