Mind you, it's a fine institution, as far as I know. But last I read it's already sitting on cash equal to five years operating at its present burn rate.

In 1974 I made an emergency call from Germany to the US. It cost more than $120 (about $730 in today's dollars).

Last night our son called from Singapore via FaceTime Audio. We talked for 30 minutes or so. Cost was zero. And I was reminded of those old Sprint TV commercials where you could hear a pin drop, it was that clear and uncluttered.
