Been following this case for a while and I still can't get over 1. how deeply unjust it is 2. how little coverage there's been of it 3. how so much of what reached the media about this case depended on one campaigner, Roxy Legane, attending every day of the boys court case.
And 4. how totally normal social media posts by teenagers were misused by the prosecution.

"If you don't have facts, you can't have truth.
Without truth, you can't have trust.
Without these, we have no shared reality, we can't solve problems, we have no democracy." – Maria Ressa
So fantastic to see Maria Ressa being interviewed by Stephen Colbert – the platform and attention she deserves for all her courage and fantastic work!

(is this an #ad?!)So exciting to see Superrr Lab's documentation of the recent Digital Futures Gathering online already! I wrote an essay about the kind of digital ID I actually want, and a reminder for myself that it's up to us to think about what we DO want:
"We need realities and futures where we do more than merely get through or withstand. We deserve those which we enjoy, and in which we thrive."

I'm so thrilled to share the new website for Saheli, a Manchester-based org close to my heart who supports women of colour + their children to leave abuse and violence, and live lives free of fear.
We've been working on this site for the past 9 months, and I hope it conveys the incredible, life-saving work their team do every day: https://www.saheli.org.uk/
If you can: donations are so very welcome! #16DaysofActivism
Thanks to @AnCluanach for pointing me towards FRIDA's newly-published strategic MEL framework – strong emphasis on how change is not linear; that having to 'prove' an org's contribution to change is not helpful for anyone, let alone a movement's progress; acknowledgement that MEL processes often take resources away from the real work. https://youngfeministfund.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/English.pdf #feministMEL #MEL

“Feminist evaluation draws on the feminist research epistemology, which is about knowledge—and calls to attention who can create and produce knowledge and under what circumstances.”
