My bad, it seems like they have simply changed the way to do it, but it is still possible.
Now, instead of creating a new output or input, you simply go to the routings of the device and under "applications" you can automatically create and connect a new I/O port to whatever software running on your system.
I'm still going to have to create a virtual sound card for some experiments I was doing with rerouting audio back to bitwig, but right now I am liking this update. It feels cleaner this way.
Trying latest #bitwig beta, I've found that with all the new audio settings we've lost the possibility to add audio inputs and outputs at will.
I used this a lot for routing audio and cv signals inside linux with #pipewire and #qpwgraph
Am I missing something, is there a workaround, or is that possibility lost?
I think I'm going to write devs to implore them to bring it back, but they have never done anything other than saying "thanks for your input".
