Bill Gates a acheté un mise un ouvre de CP/M par un étudiant de la university de Washington. S'appelle QDOS. CP/M était le pire OS à la fois. C'est un distinction qui continue aujourd'hui avec #msdos

Pendant un semaine il fait un nouveau marque MS-DOS et vendu un licence à IBM.

Entre les deux, Microsoft et IBM, pendant 10 ans, avec le markéting et mauvaises tactiques, ils écraser tout les innovations des plus petites entreprises d'ordis.

Je les boycotte depuis la début.

I've been thinking about #Emacs and computing in the 80s lately. I was a #UNIX dev.

Emacs wasn't publicly available until 1985, version 13. We all used vi. It was always there, reliable.
Emacs circulated like a rumour in the user groups and news groups.

Emacs took effort. Slow modem downloads, compiling, then a huge system that seemed overly large for an editor. We played with it as a curiosity. Made fun of it for eating memory and causing the machines to swap way too much.

I didn't switch to Emacs until 1995. Emacs 18. It came with all sorts of corporate bells and whistles. The first thing I did was install viper, the vi emulator at the time.

Emacs carries a lot of harmful, mythical baggage that creates defeatism even for developers.

But its capabilities are endless.
I can write music, a book, code, or a blog, and publish them how I like.
I move easily between sources, email, code, blogs, news, websites, pdfs, epubs and images. I have a consistent interface and editor personally modified for my own ease and comfort.
Emacs is a viable choice for enhanced productivity.

J'ai cuisiné thaï chaque jour pendant le dernier deux semaines. J'ai improvisé cette préparation végétarienne sur l'avoine décortiquée, pas de riz. C'est chillies, Aile, gingembre, sauce de poisson, un peu de sucre. Tofu, poivrons, oignons, asperges et tomates.
Le sauce à côté est jus de citron vert, sauce de poisson, aile et chillies.

It's hard core geekiness seems to keep things at bay, at least in my mind. BSD is better and always has been in many ways.
I would argue that #guix has some of these same good attributes.
