So what do I do with a domain name?

I got my first hostname from Google Domains (apparently in the middle of a sell-off to SquareSpace? Ugh). I setup an old PC with Ubuntu, hoping to experiment with self-hosting some Fediverse apps, which turned out to be *far* beyond my skill level.

In the process, I failed to configure SSL through CertBot for my new domain, AND screwed up SSL for my old no-ip DNS (hitting the rate limit for CertBot). 😵‍💫

I wanna use this hostname for SOMETHING.
Any ideas?

So I, my partner, and our (five!) cats moved into a proper house after years and years of apartment living. It's hard to say who among us enjoys this backyard the most, but I am super pleased with how all the decorative efforts turned out. There is still a lot of work to do, but this already feels like a magical space. 💖 #FreshStarts
