My cab driver from EWR -> Brooklyn came to NYC from Egypt 26 years ago, and we chatted for an hour (traffic…). When I asked him why he decided to stay in NYC he said it beautifully: “Everyone can be who and how they want to be in NYC. The air is full of freedom”. I couldn’t have said it better.
