Seems like a good day to get into #Eggy
I’ve heard a handful of jams and loved them all, but I could go for a deep dive. Should I start with this Spring Tour Selects album or are there any noteworthy jams/shows that I can’t afford to miss?
Favorite album by my favorite (pre-Phish) band came in the mail today. Taylor Goldsmith is one of the best songwriters around. Can’t recommend Dawes enough.

I’m going to need some relistens, but that Ruby Waves might surpass Oak Mountain Carini as the best jam I’ve seen live. They’ve still got it, folks.

This song sounds exactly like “Lord I Lift Your Name on High.” If you were a Christian kid in the 90s maybe you know what the hell I’m talking about.

Fingers crossed for no weather delays, but it sure made for an epic finish to the first set.

Quick Huntsville night 1 review:
Great show and a super fun tour opener. Lots of shredding and face-melting peaks. Sunset YEM was magic. Could barely hear Mike for much of the first set but they got him turned up eventually. Not the tightest show, but I don’t mind when they bring that sort of energy and craft a setlist full of classics. At set break the whole place was buzzing for 2001 and they delivered! Orion is an awesome venue and the vibes were on point. Ready for night 2!

11.7.2023 14:59I’m en route to Huntsville for #phish summer tour. Holy shit, it’s timeI'm really going to miss my AP high school students, many of whom took an interest in my #Phish hobby in the nerdiest of ways. They learned that I'm not a big "love & light" guy and chose to spite me by wishing I'd get a big Soul Planet jam during the Wharf run last summer. Upon returning to school last August, they made sure to tease me about it. The best part about working in education is those types of interactions with students. The second best part is a wide open schedule for summer tour!

No exploration or meandering, just a smooth funk jam that builds to a balls to the wall, blistering peak. And a Wolfman’s tease as things wind down! It’s damn near perfect. Trey really was a European rock god in the summer of 98.

I’m a lifelong Mississippian, which I both love and hate in equal measure at all times. High school history teacher evolved into college professor. Married to a lovely lady, we have two bright & beautiful daughters.
First heard Phish during the pandemic and started consuming shows at alarming speed. Discovered Goose in Summer ‘21. 1st Phish show on 7/30/21 and Goose on 6/2/23. I’m all about analyzing and comparing jams. Let's get this show on the road!

Now I usually go for Lakewood, Radio City, Portland 99, or Grey Hall (the best!) but Prague has helped me lure jam-averse friends into phishy waters, and when I’m in the mood for some no-nonsense machine gun Trey, it still rips!

There are prettier, more delicate versions, and perhaps a few more powerful and moving, but St. Denis is downright cheerful and feel-good. A true summertime classic.
