Ok well the API had quite a few problems around playing dice rolling animations twice and I had to reimplement a bunch of logic because the base software doesn’t expose keep/drop mechanics for rolls _and_ I had to avoid the animations being called multiple times because the internal representation is actually several dice “pools” of size one, but it works now…

I’ve heard some folks have had problems understanding the dice rolls in this game. I have an idea on how to use SFX on the dice to make them more understandable. I can probably just do this with the UI, should only take a minute.

Ok, so the SFX UI can’t _quite_ express what it needs to make the dice get differentiated right. Luckily there’s and API…. it should still be pretty straightforward.

My guess for this weekend was “Get the Heart RPG set up in Foundry, and maybe play some god of war (2022)”.

What I got was “co-op medieval tactical combat and tavern management sim” and you know, I’m not mad about it. It’s always nice when @Arktosaur and I can agree to hyperfocus on the same game.

Ran the final session of my first season of my Blades in the Dark campaign tonight and my players managed to dodge all _four_ general ways...

And I legitimately rolled the twist "This job is just a test for another job" which made the characters furious in a very fun way.

I'm closing in on starting NG+3 and there's so many different weapons/builds I still want to try.

It meaningfully advances the genre, and it was definitely a better game than Elden Ring.

I am embarrassed by the daisy-chained-usb-switched-usb-extended cabling disaster that was the result of trying to get the five(!) peripherals I use daily to easily swap between two computers at a single desk.

It's a rat's nest despite my best efforts.

But dang it, it works and I can swap between by work and home computers with the press of a button so that's pretty neat. And as long as I never ever look under my desk ever again I can pretend it doesn't exist...
