Description
This specification describes only one way how Webfan generates unique identifiers for several items.
General:
- Take the object types uuid as namespace.
- Take an "local" unique identifier for that class/object type or any "unique id" of the instance as node.
- To build "RFC" unique identifiers we have found this php script in the web: http://webfan.de/public.source.php?UUID_GENERATION
Optional Type Indicator: (object instances only)
- Type Indicator: The 15th character of the UUID string SHOULD be allways 5 as our UUIDs are namebased. We COULD overwrite this character with any NONE-Hexadecimal Character. So for example the 15th char of an uuid of an userpoints-transaction-number is set to "T" to indicate that it is an userpoints-transaction-number, e.g.: 4984C2C0-D89F-T041-A458-1D98D7F352EA
Important notice:: The optional type indicator is used only for UUIDs of objects instances (e.g. an entry/row in a db table), it is never used for UUIDs of object type declarations like they are found in this repository.
Using the type indicator casts the UUID to a string, the UUIDs registered in this repository are "vaild" hexadecimal values.
